A native of Japan, Tanukana began to emerge as a global icon in the Tekken community, very much recognized as not just a female gamer, but a Xiaoyu player with very solid and unorthodox gameplay. But when it comes to measuring up to Yuyu, Shoryuken reports, “she is not the official first lady of Tekken in Japan yet — as there was one woman who blazed the trails before her. Yuyu has long been considered the best female player in Japan, and was sidelined for a couple years due to marriage and pregnancy. Once she returned, she played Tanukana in her hometown of Kobe, and claims to have never lost to Tanukana in tournament or casuals.”
The two ladies will face one another in Kemonomichi 2 to settle the score once and for all, determining who is the first lady of Tekken in Japan. It will be the second of Daigo Umehara’s showmatch events tonight.
