Tekken certified by Guinness World Records as longest-lasting 3D fighter & video game with longest-lasting story
Tekken series featured in Guinness World Records 2018.

Today the Guinness World Records office of Japan announced that the Tekken series holds two world records that will be included in their newly released book Guinness World Records 2018. Tekken is certified as being the “longest-lasting 3D fighting video game series,” which is 21 years and 179 days. As well, it is certified as being “video game with the longest-lasting story” (20 years and 99 days).

Tekken first became available to arcades in December 1994. Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, which is the latest version of the arcade version, launched in July 2016. And as you should well know, the home version of Tekken 7 just released on June 2, 2017.
Guinness World Records 2018 became available today, August 31, 2017, and releases in Japanese on September 7, 2017.
