In the interview they talk about where the inspiration for some of characters derived from, including a funny story about how Shaheen was created with the help of some Saudi Arabians who were studying in Japan.
They also discuss the various ways they made the game accessible for more casual players, which according to them, accounts for 90% of the Tekken fan base.
The most interesting part of the interview is when they explain how difficult it was to make the rendering camera system that allows a player to choose which side they fight on, even if the same side. Harada explains that it’s not as simple as flipping the camera, and that it took them several years to accomplish. As well, Tekken 7 is the very first fighting game to achieve this groundbreaking feat.
