“Ready Remix” doesn’t just hold a prime spot in “Overdrive”—it has also earned a spot on the highly anticipated soundtrack album for the fighting game event, “A New Generation.” Set to drop during the event, this album, along with “Ready Remix,” is sure to leave a significant impact on the global gaming community.
The North Carolina-based artist, real name Gerrel Hoover, has a storied history in the gaming community. Known for his unique fusion of rap, hip-hop, and video game-inspired music, his newest album “Overdrive” boasts industry-level composition paired with passionate character-focused songwriting. Co-produced with Andrei Shulgach, the album weaves together elements of rock, hip-hop, and electronic dance music, centering around the Street Fighter franchise while also touching on other beloved titles, like Tekken.
A revamped version of the original “Ready” track that debuted at EVO 2014 for Tekken Tag Tournament 2, “Ready Remix” captures the spirit of Tekken 7 tournaments with its adrenaline-fueled lyrics. The track is replete with references to Tekken lore and competitive passion, including a standout line—”skywalking”—that pays tribute to North American Tekken pro and Red Bull athlete, Hoa “Anakin” Luu. The line commemorates his impressive victory at Combo Breaker earlier this year.

Omega Sparx’s music is deeply intertwined with his love for gaming, especially Tekken. Jin, his favorite character, has been a staple in his gaming roster since Tekken 4.
