The intriguing detail comes on the heels of Katsuhiro Harada’s tweet in early April hinting at a Tekken 8 beta. Harada, alongside colleague Michael Murray, also announced at Combo Breaker 2023 just last weekend that the game’s Closed Alpha Test was ending, and the next phase of development would soon commence.
The SteamDB entry is categorized under the “Beta” App Type. Accompanying this entry is a graphic reading “Tekken 8 CNT”, with speculation suggesting that “CNT” could stand for “Closed Network Test”.
While Bandai Namco, Tekken’s publisher, has yet to officially confirm these details, the puzzle pieces seem to be fitting together. Harada’s earlier tweet, the recent SteamDB entry, and the conclusion of the Closed Alpha Test at Combo Breaker 2023 all point to the likelihood of an upcoming Beta Test for Tekken 8.
While fans should approach these signs with cautious optimism, the excitement for what’s next in Tekken 8’s development is undeniable. As we continue to await official confirmation, the Tekken community remains on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the chance to delve deeper into the world of Tekken 8.
