You may or may not remember in our interview with Ariel “FightingGM” Capellan that we asked him about his accomplishment of being recognized by the Guinness World Records for having the most wins in Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Well, the world and national record keeper annually publishes a book of “both of human achievements and the extremes of the natural world,” and they’ve just released their 2017 Gamer’s Edition – which features Fighting GM.

GM is published in their book as having the “Most Tekken tournament championships.” We don’t know if that’s just their unfamiliarity with the “Tekken Tag Tournament 2” title of the game, or if this is literally meant to mean the most-ever wins for Tekken in tournaments, but the latter is how is definitely reads.

Here’s what the description says:

As of 28 Jan 2016, eSports player Ariel “FightingGM” Capellan (USA) had won 19 major tournaments in the Tekken franchise, as recognized by the organizers of EVO. His victories included three Winter Brawl titles, two Summer Jam titles and Absolute Battle 2015.
