CEO 2016 is currently taking place in Orlando, FL, and the Tekken 7 action is already off to a hype start. There were no pools today (they kick off in the morning at 10am EDT), but there was casual play of Tekken 7: Fated Retribution. The highlight of all matches was a FT3 (first to three) between pro Korean Street Fighter player Angry Poongko (Akuma) and Aris of Avoid the Puddle (Dragunov). Aris won the first two matches, but then Poongko took of his jacket and belt and went to work with Akuma like we’ve yet to see anyone else do – and respectfully not even Tokido. He made Akuma look absolutely unstoppable. After the match a highly impressed Aris stated that he’ll be using Akuma for sure.

Angry Poongko is on record as saying that he will be playing Tekken 7 professionally in place of Street Fighter V, and all because of Akuma. Looks like Harada-san and company had the right idea, because it’s working.
