Is Tekken 7 getting snubbed at EVO 2016 World Finals?
Sometimes it seems like people don’t know what to do with Tekken 7. It’s a game that people love, but can’t fully commit to just yet. The reason is simple – it’s not out on consoles yet. Period. But while that’s true, Tekken 7 still has very impressive numbers for being a game that isn’t even “out” yet.

Why is tekken never getting a top 8 spot on evo sunday? This is stupid just replace either melee or umvc3. Let them games die plz!!

Tekken 7 wasn’t on the main stage at Combo Breaker 2016, and it also won’t be featured on Sunday, July 17 at EVO 2016 World Finals held at Mandalay Bay in Vegas. This is a big deal because Mandalay Bay is where many big events have been held. This is all understandable and no-one should be up in arms about it. When it comes to tournaments (and business), it’s always about the numbers. The numbers just aren’t there quite yet. And the hype isn’t fully there yet either. It’s getting there, and it will get there.

If Tekken 7 were to be featured at Mandalay Bay this year, it could potentially do more harm than good – for Tekken and EVO. Why? Because millions of eyes are upon us right now. They want to see that we are a legitimate scene and worthy of investment. But not only that, for the continued growth and success of our own scene, we need to be strategic and smart about it. We can’t allow emotion to overrule reason in these cases. There must be balance.
@JodyThaGreat dude there's NOT ENOUGH entered people in Tekken for that to happen those dead games have more entrants free!!

@Tasty_Steve @JodyThaGreat for this year, especially since it's not wifey available. I am against TEKKEN having a Sunday slot. Not fair.

@JodyThaGreat @Tasty_Steve maybe next yr. It's not fair to all the games that have a strong scene & dedicated community for available games

Once Tekken 7 officially comes out on PS4 (and we believe other platforms), the numbers and hype will be through the roof. The signs are there. Even now, CEO is capped at 256 participants, according to Alex Jebailey’s tweet just a few moments ago.
30 hours left to reg for #CEO2016! Current #'s are:
Smash4 835
SFV 746
Melee 609
PT 256
T7 256
MKXL 160
XRD 148
UMvC3 144
USF4 110
KI 104— Alex Jebailey (@CEOJebailey) June 11, 2016
Even Combo Breaker had 252 participants, and for a game not even out yet.
What does all of this mean? It means that it’s a great time to be a Tekken fan. Sure, it’s not ideally how many would want it right now, but it is what it is. Big things are coming.
So, is Tekken 7 getting snubbed at EVO? Absolutely not.
